Baltic Sea Moment for kids and youth

Baltic Sea Day offers content and activities related to the Baltic Sea for kindergartens, schools, libraries, museums and homes.

Baltic Sea posters and tasks

How has the ice age shaped the Baltic Sea? What does eutrophication mean? What can each of us do for the Baltic Sea? Print the Baltic Sea posters for the school hallway or classroom wall and discuss their themes. The posters have been made into task sets for primary and secondary schools.

Save the Baltic Sea by playing

In the Splash game, you can become a marine conservation superhero and save the Baltic Sea by playing. The game, intended for children, helps them understand what kind of ways we have to save the sea. The game can be played in Finnish and English.

Check off the things you’ve done this summer. If you get a row of three squares, shout “Bingo”!
Alternatively, you can shout “Bingo” when you’ve checked off 6 squares.

Download the color version of the bingo.

Baltic Sea-themed music session

Materials available only in Finnish

“Are You Ready – Pelastetaan Itämeri,” ask the third graders of Ylästö School in their awesome song.
Watch the MMMUSARIT music video and take a look at the lyrics.

What concerns about the Baltic Sea are mentioned in the song?
What kind of feelings does the song evoke?
Would you be inspired to create your own sea-themed song?
