Pop-up with Baltic Sea researchers

Come visit Åbo Akademi’s own environmental- and marine biologists to learn about your local marine life. We will be based in the Market Square from 10-15, where our researchers will be happy to talk to you about our marine critters that live on the seafloor and who preys upon them, have a look at beautiful shapes and varieties of microscopic algae and what mysteries sea sediments can reveal about the historical and current state of the Baltic Sea.

Parks and Wildlife Finland will also be present, telling you about underwater mapping of the marine environment, administration and care of marine protected areas and biodiversity restoration at sea. Come discuss the actions taken to support biodiversity in the Archipelago Sea.
